Malissa Marshall, CFP®, EA
Over fourteen years of experience in tax consulting and preparation, including over nine years at a global public accounting firm working in San Francisco, Boston and Zürich, Switzerland, serving in both Global Mobility Services for internationally-deployed executives and Personal Financial Services for high net worth individuals.
I graduated from Columbia University (Barnard College), Magna Cum Laude, with a BA in Political Science and a Minor in German Literature. I started a PhD program in Late Modern European History at UC Berkeley, but then realized my calling was to be a financial planner. I'm currently enrolled in the Masters in Taxation program at Northeastern University, with a focus on Financial Planning.
I am both an Enrolled Agent, licensed to represent all taxpayers before the IRS, and a Certified Financial Planner(TM) Professional.
Until recently, I served as Treasurer of the Board of Bridge School, an independent K-6 in Middlebury, and was also on the Steering Committee of Mountain River Sangha, a non-denominational community of Buddhist practitioners in Bristol.
I grew up in Middlebury, VT but after graduating high school, I spent a year in Germany as an exchange student, moved to New York City for college, then to the San Francisco Bay Area for grad school and work, transferring to Boston after my son was born to be closer to my family. Finally, I spent two years living and working in Zürich before returning to Vermont with my son, Henry.
